Journalism Professor Earns Global Recognition for Storytelling

Journalism Professor, Amanda Cupido travelled to Berlin, Germany to attend the Digital Communication Awards and present a pitch for her work with World Vision International’s Stories After Syria. The project was one of the top five submissions in the “storytelling” category (for its efforts in lifting the voices of Syrian refugee children through VR) and for the “NGOs and associations” category (for its innovative partnership with Al Jazeera and Samsung). Amanda travelled to Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan earlier this year as World Vision’s lead producer on the project. She’s currently teaching JRN 300 – Introduction Integrated Newsroom.

Amanda is also celebrating the recent release of her first book “Let’s Talk Podcasting“, which explains the world of podcasting as it is now, where it’s headed, and how to start your own. Her passion for helping others and storytelling is clear as she brings energy and enthusiasm with her in every role she takes.
